CYE is now offering backpacking (or other adventure) trips! Why, because we love God and being together in community and the simplicity of the outdoors can help bring us back to the essentials. Plus, it’s just super fun. See where we’re headed…

Another at-home expedition, but our hope is that spring will have sprung! We will be sleeping inside, but prepare for cold weather! You never know what April will bring in Door County, but you can guarantee that we will be outside no matter what.

We will be staying home for our first expedition of the 2024 summer! We will be sleeping in tents and spending lots of time outside so please check the weather in Door County before you come! Lake Michigan works like an air conditioner so Spring in Door County can be very cold, even if the weather is warm as close as Green Bay.

Newport State Park Backpacking Expedition
Join us for what has become an annual trip to Newport State Park! This is a great backpacking trip for beginners, but be ready for 6-8 mile hikes while carrying all of your gear on your back. Registration will close 72 hours before we start so we can prep gear and food, so sign up early!

Backpacking Pilgrimage to the National Shrine of Our Lady of Champion
Over the course of 4 days we will walk to the only approved Marian apparition site in the United States! Most of the pilgrimage will be on the Ice Age Trail, with the end being on the quiet back roads near the shrine. We will start hiking in Sturgeon Bay, which will make us average about 10 miles of hiking per day. Please make sure you know your fitness level before we begin!
